Mircroelectronics Engineering M. Sc. (Track in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology)

For non-EU prospective students please note: You can only apply for the master track with preliminary review documentation (VPD) from uni-assist. We do only accept LUH-specific VPD. You must apply for this to uni-assist at least eight weeks before the application deadline for the study programme expires - take this into account when planning your application! More information

You need following minimum score of English language test certificate: 
TOEFL Academic (ibT or ome Edition): at least 5.0 or 5.5 (previously 95 points)
IELTS Academic: at least 7.0
PTE Academic: at least 76 points
C1 Advanced (previously CAE)

We only accept applications with valid language certifications. A Bachelor’s degree with English as language of instruction is not acceptable as proof of English language skills.

Detailed information about English language certification you will find on the Leibniz Language Center. German language skills are recommended but not required.

When you are accepted at LUH, you will pay the semester fees each semester at LUH. There are no tution fees at LUH.

You are welcome to apply if you have completed an international accepted (at least 3-year) Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Nanotechnology or a different subject-related degree. 

An admissions committee decides whether the previous degree is subject-specific suitable. You can use the following information to assess your chances of admission in advance. 

For the “Microelectronics Engineering” track, following competencies are at least required:

• 15 ECTS-LP in Mathematics
• 15 ECTS-LP in Electrical Engineering Fundamentals
• 20 ECTS-LP in Advanced Electrical Engineering
• 10 ECTS-LP in Control Engineering/Control Systems/Systems Engineering

You may be admitted with the condition that you make up any missing Bachelor's modules within two semesters. 

Job experience is not required. 

In general, you can choose from all courses that are offered in the module handbook of the track. There are some restrictions regarding the recognition of credit points; you can find some information in the Exemplary Course of Study above. For more details, please consult the examination regulations.

You can register for exams via the QISduring the appropriate exam registration periods.

Please make sure you registered for the correct exams. It is not possible to register for an exam after the registration period ended.

If you decide you do not want to take a written examination you registered for after the registration period ends, you can deregister via the QIS up to 7 days before the exam. For oral examinations, please contact the examiner. Please note that if you do not show up to a written or oral examination despite being registered, this counts as a failed attempt.

Step 1: Print out the form "Application for Admission to the Master’s Degree Thesis" and fill in the first page. 

Step 2: Please submit the document along with a copy of your ID card (or equivalent document). Be sure to black out all irrelevant information (especially the ID number!) except for your last name, first name, date of birth, and place of birth. Please note that the supervisor may only issue the topic after this step has been completed!

Step 3: Now fill out the second page together with your supervisor or examiner in the subject area of your choice. As a rule, the supervising section will then return the form to the Examination Office.
