Mathematics Foundation Course for First-Semester Students

At the beginning of a bachelor's degree programme, students often experience some difficulties in mathematics. To make it easier to start your studies, we offer mathematics foundation courses aimed at new students of the faculty's bachelor's degree programmes. Subsequently, the contents of the foundation courses are deepened in the subject-specific courses Mathematical Methods of Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering and Mechatronics or Mathematical Methods of Computer Science and Computer Engineering.

Participation is strongly recommended for all students. Registration is not necessary, the courses are offered free of charge, and late entry is possible at any time. If you have any questions, please contact the coordinator of the study entry phase. In addition to receiving professional support, you get to know your fellow students in the foundation course and have the opportunity to make contact with students in higher semesters. Important information events for your studies also take place during the foundation courses. You can refresh yourself and get to know first-semester tutors in an "OE Cafe". You can also get a ticket for public transport at a reduced rate.

The course Mathematical Methods in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering and Mechatronics ends with a final examination, which is part of the degree programme and is awarded two credit points. The examination takes place at the beginning of the semester.
